Am 14. September werden sie das Ergebnis im Studio Pro Arte präsentieren.
Ilaria Bagarolo aka Gary (they/them) is an italian artist active in the fields of dance and performance. Her artistic experience spans a wide range of performing arts: Italian Opera, physical theater, durational performance, urban and site-specific performance, somatic movement, and most recently, vertical dance; she collaborates with KINKALERI/Galleria dell’Accademia of Firenze, Nico Vascellari/CODALUNGA, Virgilio Sieni Dance Company/Merz Foudation, Andrigo&Aliprandi/V-A-C Foundation, Tecnologia Filosofica, Vest&Page/Venice International Performance Art Week and others.
Recently she has developed three authorial works: POLO, an award winning screendance work; O, an installative performance supported by Tanztendenz e.V. Muenchen, and #0ENTER, supported by Company Blu. In her artistic vision rituality, repetition, and deep listening represent ways to start expanding one's potential; therefore she investigates the meaning of well-being and identity in a fluid-digitalized society.
Edoardo Battaglia (he/him) is a visual and performative artist. In his artistic research, he feels the need to explore the artistic field through different media and practices in order to create his own works. Then search for fitting, assemblage, and unity has always been evident in his works on a conceptual and/or visual level, and he is particularly interested - also in his daily life - in themes of anti-speciesism, gender, and rights.
Alice Pan (she/her) is a Franco-Italian dance artist. Her projects are conceived as moments of encounter and sharing, aimed at conveying a tangible sensitivity in a reality increasingly dominated by technological loneliness and individualism. In 2018, Alice graduated from Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich and in 2022 she obtained a Master's degree in Contemporary Dance at the London School of Contemporary Dance in London. In 2022 she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts Studies (DAMS), at the University of Bologna. Alice currently works as a performer and choreographer in Paris and collaborates with, among others, Damien Jalet and Serena Malacco (Compagnie Jukebox).
Anatomy of a memory arises from the shared desire of Alice, Ilaria, and Edoardo to delve into their family memories.
Anatomy, from the Greek ἀνατομή-dissect, and Memory, from the Latin recŏrdari-to recall to the
heart, intertwine to construct an intimate and sincere revelation that runs along time. The chosen title evokes a cold body, methodically dissected in every part, which coexists with memory, which represents an ephemeral but indispensable glue that observes reality through an opaque, liquid gaze.
Indeed, memory recalls to the present something that is no longer here or is no longer
now. Not in its original form. And yet, merely by returning to the heart [or body],
it revives a concrete feeling, a direct experience.
It is the possibility of consulting the past, of questioning it, of laying oneself down in it
again.
